Meet Mike Beltran

Mike Beltran grew up in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Harvard Law at the height of the Great Recession, Mike moved to Florida like so many others looking for opportunity. He built a career as an attorney fighting for everyday people and small businesses against powerful interests. After years of serving his community as a lawyer, Mike felt called to public service.

He ran for the Florida House of Representatives and won, serving as our state representative for six years. In the legislature, Mike became known as someone who would stand his ground against both parties, refusing to go along with a bad idea just because his party suggested it.

What Mike Delivered for Tampa Bay
In just six years as a state legislator, Mike helped deliver the largest tax cut in Florida history, putting money back in the pockets of Tampa Bay families dealing with historic inflation. He cut healthcare bureaucracies blocking new clinics from opening and expanded telehealth access, making affordable healthcare available to more families and seniors across Tampa Bay. He cut the red tape that blocked qualified workers from starting careers and small businesses from growing.

Mike didn’t accomplish any of this by playing it safe or going along to get along. He voted against his own party when they were wrong, and against special interests when they tried to use government to crush competition and raise prices on working families.

Why Mike is Running for Congress
After six years in the legislature, Mike stepped away from public office to focus on his law practice and his family. But watching Kathy Castor spend 18 years in Washington while Tampa Bay families struggled with skyrocketing costs, Mike decided it was time to come back.

Kathy Castor has had nearly two decades to fight for this community. Instead, she turned a taxpayer-funded salary into a personal fortune, rubber-stamped trillions in reckless spending that fueled historic inflation, and took money from lobbyists while refusing to stand up for Hillsborough County against the special interests she’s supposed to be fighting.

Tampa Bay deserves better. Mike Beltran is running for Congress to be the same fighter he was in Tallahassee: someone who puts families first, not politicians. Lower costs, better healthcare access, more opportunity, and a congressman who actually answers to the people of this district.

Mike lives in Southeast Hillsborough with his wife and their two sons. He is an attorney licensed in Florida and New York, with a practice focused on fighting for individuals and small businesses against powerful opponents.
