TAMPA, FL – After a series of successful meetings in Washington this week, Former State Representative Mike Beltran officially filed for Congress in Florida’s newly redrawn 14th Congressional District, entering the race as the clear frontrunner. Beltran launches with a $1 million investment on day one, giving him a stronger financial foundation at launch than incumbent Kathy Castor.

“Hakeem Jeffries promised ‘maximum warfare’ against the greatest state in the country. Florida’s 14th District deserves a fighter who puts constituents first, not career politicians who answer to the DC establishment,” said Beltran. “I’ve never backed down from a fight, I’ve never caved to pressure or turned my back on President Trump, and I never will.”

Beltran accomplished much in the Florida House to preserve the constitution, limit government, and protect the unborn. By the end of his tenure, Florida was unequivocally the best place to live and raise a family in the nation. Having accomplished so much, Beltran declined to serve until term limited, instead retiring from politics at the age of 39 to focus on his law practice and family. Beltran nonetheless continued to promote President Trump’s agenda, litigating against, among others, Big Pharma, to decrease prescription drug prices.

However, the pressing need to protect the House Majority, and the opportunity to defeat the only Democrat on Florida’s Gulf Coast, has brought 41-year-old Beltran out of retirement and into politics again.
